 “Want to see India as a technology superpower”

Director, Actis Technologies, Abhimanyu Gupta has over 14 years of experience in designing advanced audio video facilities. He has played a key role in transforming Actis from a small company involved in the manufacture and sales of products for the film industry into India’s leading provider of AV, environment control and meeting solutions.

 

If not in the IT industry: I would have been in the Indian Air Force.

 

Biggest passion: Technology, traveling and music.

 

Behind the wheels: I am fond of my current ride, Honda City.

 

Gadgets I can’t live without: My laptop.

 

Role model: My Father Manmohan Gupta. He has always been a mentor to me.

 

Weekends are for: Family.

 

Favorite holiday destination: Mount St Helens, it is an active volcano located in US.

 

Hate the most: I detest India’s poor infrastructure. It is one of the biggest impediments to growth.

 

Ultimate ambition: To make Actis a Rs 1,000-crore company.

 

Wildest thing I’ve ever done: It is a secret.

 

Thing I most want to do in life: Other than expanding business, I want to give back to the society.

 

Favorite sport: Mountain biking.

 

If I became the Prime Minister: I will work towards eradicating poverty and establishing 100 percent literacy in the country. I would like to make India a technology superpower.

 

Celebrity I’d like to spend a day with: None. I have tried!
