Acer’s new retail policy for recession

Acer India has announced a new retail policy for its branded stores to protect the interests of its partners in a recessionary economy.

The company announced across the board reduction in targets deployed for its retailers in Q1 2009, while keeping all payouts, including fixed ones at the same level.

Targeted at 300 plus Acer Malls and Acer Points, the targets have been revised downwards by up to 30 percent.

S Rajendran, CMO, Acer India said, “Our retail channel contributed a turnover of over Rs 350 crore in 2008. With this policy our aim is to protect the interest of our retailers given the current recessionary environment.”
