 “I follow auto industry trends”

Anand MehtaAnand Mehta, Associate Vice President, Marketing at Digilink, has handled various roles in the company for 12 years—including international business, IT, admin, HR, new business development and the BPO Initiative D-TAC (Digilink Technical Assistance Centre).

If not in the IT industry: I would definitely have been in Heavy Engineering, possibly automotive engineering.

Biggest passion: Besides marketing, I follow trends in automobile industry keenly.

Behind the wheels: Currently, I drive a Skoda Laura and a Tata Safari and my dream vehicle is the Porsche Cayenne.

Gadgets I can’t live without: My cell phone, car phone speaker, laptop, iPod and camera.

Role model: Actually none. But I admire Mahatma Gandhi, NR Narayana Murthy, Azim Premji and film stars like Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan for their individual qualities.

Weekends are for: Family and personal hobbies.

Favorite holiday destination: Manali in India, and Paris among international destinations.

Hate the most: Dual standards, unethical behavior and unpunctuality—often referred to as Indian Standard Time.

Wildest thing I’ve ever done: Drove myself to my own wedding ceremony, 400km away, in a newly registered SUV.

Things I most want to do in life: Visit the most beautiful spots in India and abroad with my family, preferably by road.

Favorite sport and sportsperson: F1 racing, cricket and table tennis. Favorite sportspersons are Sachin Tendulkar and the late Ayrton Senna.

If I became the Prime Minister: I would ensure that the delivery system is improved and corruption is wiped out.

Celebrity I’d like to spend a day with: The Indian Prime Minister. Maybe I could quickly sell a couple of my ideas to him.

Deepest and darkest fear: Heights, deep water, and like every family man, fear of not being able to be there for my family in case of any eventuality.
