Citrix is looking for networking partners to resell its Netscaler application delivery solutions. Describing it a huge opportunity for partners, Sanjay Deshmukh, Area Vice President, India Subcontinent, Citrix, said the vendor was looking for partners with strong implementation skills in the networking domain to take the solutions to the market. “Netscaler is one of our most profitable products and caters to multiple functions within application delivery. Each of these is a market opportunity.”
He said that Netscaler is witnessing significant adoption in core banking applications and other areas involving Web application delivery. According to Deshmukh, local development of the entire Netscaler stack and the ability to integrate the software into application servers were strong points that could help partners convince customers to adopt the solution.
“Netscaler is no longer just an appliance; we have relaunched it as a software that can be integrated into servers. Partners can take our solution and customize it. Moreover, they can leverage the relationship with us to offer customers our other solutions as well,” added Deshmukh.
Citrix is also looking at telcos and hosting partners to use Netscaler to build services like Desktop-as-a-Service and Infrastructure-as-a-Service to customers. “The business model of cloud service providers is very different from SIs, so we are changing our licensing policy to cater to their needs. We are hoping to launch cloud-related offerings by May,” said Deshmukh.
He informed that apart from Netscaler, Citrix was focusing on desktop virtualization (DV) which will be its key offering going forward. Deshmukh said DV was witnessing huge adoption in India and globally. “In Q4 2009 alone, we added 1,000 new DV customers worldwide.
In India we continue to see increasing traction for DV solutions in the healthcare, retail, financial services, IT and BPO segments.” |
