Employees willing to accept pay cuts

In a gesture of support, employees of several channel companies are coming forward to take salary cuts in order to help their employers overcome the effects of the current slowdown.
Many organizations have reported that some of their staff members have requested the organizations not to retrench them, and instead requested that they be paid less over the next few months. “We have several employees approaching us, voluntarily informing us that they are willing to take pay cuts in exchange for secure jobs. We are considering such requests,” revealed Anuj Gupta, Director of Mumbai-based MIEL e-Security.
Girish Madhavan, CEO of Chennai-based Quadsel, has observed the same trend. “Some of our staff have offered to take a 40 percent cut in salaries. Though we are quite overwhelmed by their gesture, we do not plan to cut salaries by so much.”
Bangalore-based sub-distributor and retail chain owner, Sogo Computers has a similar story to tell. “Some of our loyal and senior managers have offered to take lower salaries till the markets pick up,” informed Narayan More, Finance Head at Sogo.
