Epson Accredited Partner Meet 2009 Held in Venice

 CRN Network, November 19, 2009, 1230 hrs

Epson’s Accredited Partner’s Meet 2009 was recently concluded in Venice, Italy. About 85 Accredited partners met in Italy from November 7 to 11 to review and discuss plans for the year ahead.

Held to review Epson’s performance for the year 2008-09 and to discuss the roadmap and strategies for the year ahead, the meet saw Epson’s senior management from India and Singapore share their plans for the company and individual product categories.

Quoting the latest IDC reports, Epson informed its partners that its value market share of the overall printer market stood at 27 percent in September 2009 up from 21 percent in September 2008. Similarly, Epson’s Value Market share in the Inkjet segment was up from 27 percent in September 2008 to 36 percent in September 2009, a market share gain of 9 percent points. In the traditionally strong area of dot matrix printers, Epson’s share moved up from 48 percent to 55 percent over the course of the last 12 months.

It was not all work at the meet, however. Epson also arranged for a sight seeing in Venice, a visit to the Sistine Chapel in Florence, the leaning tower in Pisa and a visit to the Vatican.

Epson is known to organise wonderful partner meets at exotic locations, consistently. It is a big inspiration to the partners and they look forward to qualifying for the same !

Recently, a partner told me that a leading vendor has sent letters to several of its partners stating that they would like to audit the partners’ business. When the partner refused, he was sent a notice by the vendor’s legal department stating that the partner’s contract made it mandatory for him to comply with the vendor’s demand
