35,000 Visitors Throng JCDA’s IT Expo

The second edition of the IT expo organised by the Jammu Computers Dealers Association (JCDA) with a theme of Next Generation IT was a success.


Spread across 10,000 square feet area, the event showcased IT innovations of about 40 companies. The expo was inaugurated by Raman Bhalla, Minister of Revenue and Rehabilitation. “Over 35,000 visitors including tech savvy professionals, IT students, and delegates from SMBs, police, defence, paramilitary forces, and the IT department thronged the expo during its four-day period,” said Arvind Koul, President, JCDA.
 

The expo was supported by companies including HP, Sony, HCL, Canon, Intel, Digilink, Digisol, D-Link, Epson, Matrix, and Sharp. “JCDA grossed revenue of about Rs 12 lakh from the event. Partners too received good response from the visitors and saw some high value bookings during the event. Two high-end printers worth Rs 20 lakh each from Konica Minolta were sold during the event. Apart from this, the event also witnessed sales of about 45 HP consumer notebooks, 13 HP commercial notebooks, 35 Dell notebooks, and four Apple MacBooks,” elaborated Koul.


“JCDA has taken the initiative with an objective that people of Jammu are able to witness the tremendous technological changes going on in the IT field, which has created employment opportunities directly or indirectly for the educated youth,” he added.
