Mahabala exits VMware; joins ValuePoint

 By Ramdas S, CRN, February 8, 2010, 1130 hrs

The Regional Director of VMware India, Ganesh Mahabala has joined Bengaluru-based ValuePoint Systems as Senior Vice President.

Confirming the news, RS Shanbhag, Chairman and Managing Director, ValuePoint Systems, said, “We are excited to have Ganesh onboard. He will be responsible for sales, marketing, strategies and alliances, and also look after expansions we are planning in India and overseas.”

Mahabala joined VMware in May 2007 after a six-and-a-half-year stint with Sun Microsystems as Director, Sales (South). Prior to that, he spent two years with Gulf Computers in Oman. He has over 18 years experience in the IT industry and has also worked with CDAC and Softek.

According to Shanbhag, Mahabala’s Middle East experience will help the company expand into overseas market. “Capitalizing on our success in India, we are drawing up aggressive expansion plans overseas. For this, we needed someone who has vast cross-functional and solution experience and Ganesh was the best choice.”
