Micro Village To Make A Comeback

 By Ramdas S, CRN, February 19, 2010, 1130 hrs

One of the country’s earliest data networking distributor, Micro Village Communications is plotting a comeback. The Bengaluru-headquartered distributor is reinventing itself as a unified communication and voice solution distributor for India and Saarc countries. The vendor has set an ambitious target of Rs 75 crore for the year 2010, and is on partner signing spree.

Micro Village used to be a distributor of noted brands such as US Robotics and 3Com. However, since 2004 the vendor had been keep a very low profile and was not very active.

“It’s true that we were keeping a low profile. The market dynamics changed and the data networking space became very competitive. That’s why, while making a comeback, we are focusing on the unified communications space,” said VR Kirubakaran, Director, Business Development, Micro Village.

The distributor has signed with vendors such as Digium, Hypermedia, Quintum and Grandstream, established players in the VOIP space.

Micro Village has also inked deals with around 200 partners and is on the lookout for more partners. “Unified Communications is a hot area. Systems integrators and solutions providers need a focused value-added distributor in this space, and we are filling the void,” he added.

Micro Village has nine offices across the country.
