Dell Rolls Out ProSupport Mobility Services For SMBs


 CRN Network, August 27, 2009, 1230 hrs

Dell India has introduced its ProSupport Mobility Services, a suite of modular asset and data protection services for SMBs. Designed to protect the PCs as well as the critical data stored in them, ProSupport Mobility offers access, security and support to ensure high availability of IT resources—which in turn is imperative for the SMBs to run their business profitably and productively. 

 

Dell also announced it will work with channel partners to enable them to provide service support to SMB customers.

 

The ProSupport Mobility services include: 

  • Laptop tracking and recovery to help companies accurately track and recover lost or stolen laptops
  • Remote data delete to enable customers to remotely delete sensitive company data if a laptop is lost or stolen
  • Hard drive data recovery to retrieve information from a failed or damaged hard drive
  • Certified data destruction to destroy notebook data in a secure manner, providing certification of destruction, and disposing of the customer’s hard drive in an environmentally responsible manner
  • CompleteCare accidental damage service to cover repair and replacement costs associated with accidental damages to laptops caused by spills, drops and surges
  • Extended battery service to expand battery warranties that include the option to replace a battery in the second to third year of system ownership
     

“Companies spend too much time managing their PCs, servers and storage—we are out to change that with solutions that improve staff productivity, cut costs and ensure security of critical information”, said Tim Griffin, VP, Global SMB Services, Dell. “These services will be a great way for our partners to make money through an expanded portfolio beyond hardware, improve their margins and offer a differentiation to their customers using Dell proven technologies.”

 

Dell has three major services categories for its SMB customers—ProSupport, ProManage and ProConsult.

 

Griffin said, “ProSupport, along with ProManage and ProConsult will soon be available in India and offer a full suite of services for SMBs ranging from on-call support to remote network management. We’re doing it through Cloud services that are affordable, reliable and easy to turn up or down based on the customers specific needs.”
