Leviton is scouting for distribution and solutions partners for its networking solutions comprising passive components, cables, and last-mile wireless products. The company is also looking for systems integrators for its building automation, energy management, lighting and power control offerings.
“Being a late entrant in the market, we are looking at a strategy to speedily ramp up our business in India and for this we will heavily rely on IT channels. From a products perspective, we have the widest products portfolio in the cabling space. Customers are already familiar with Leviton brand due to our global reputation,” claimed Prasanna Kumar, Regional Director, India and Saarc, Leviton.
Leviton is currently scouting for partners at national and regional level. “We are in touch with a few national distributors and are discussing partnership possibilities with large regional players in all major cities for our networking products. Hopefully by October we intend to have the distribution network in place,” said Kumar. The company is ramping up its India sales and support, and is currently on a hiring spree. “We are setting up a large office in Bengaluru which will also have a proof-of-concept center. Our strategy is not to go behind the same business that most cabling vendors are fighting for, but create new opportunities by targeting virgin markets,” added Kumar.
Apart from networking, Leviton will aggressively focus on solutions like lighting control, energy management, and building automation. “Building automation and energy management solutions are increasingly getting integrated with the enterprise IT infrastructure. We have the products and platform for such solutions and we will enable our IT partners to sell them,” concluded Kumar. |
