McAfee appoints Senior Director for Avert Labs

McAfee has appointed Prabhat Singh as Senior Director for the Asia-Pacific-Japan operations of McAfee Avert Labs, emphasizing the vendor’s continued focus on the anti-malware and security services space in India. Singh had set up the company’s anti-virus research operations at Bangalore in 2009.
“With his strong track record in the information security industry, we are sure Singh will make an excellent addition to our team. His inclusion in the Avert team will add value to customer and partner success in APAC,” said Steve Redman, President, McAfee APAC. Singh said that he aims to further strengthen McAfee’s presence in the online security space. “At a time when Internet security has become a subject of national concern, the company is doing some great work in this space,” Singh stated.
Singh has over 14 years of experience in security and data forensics research. He has helped build and manage large security research operations for leading global security companies. Prior to joining McAfee, Singh set up and managed Symantec’s Security Response and Engineering initiative in the country.
