NEC Scouting For Partners

By Varun Aggarwal, CRN, January 19, 2010, 1600 hrs

Next on NEC India’s agenda are its projectors and enterprise solutions. To further its plans, the vendor is on a look out for partners.

Sanjay Dhuria, Country Head, Display Product and Solutions, NEC India, said, “By July 2009, we will be adding two more national distributors to our existing base covering 43 cities. Currently, we have Neoteric—mainly for supplying and billing channel partners—and Mumbai-based Solutions India for the product line.”

For its enterprise solutions, NEC currently has six SI partners and is scouting for at least six new large professional SIs who can bundle and implement its solutions into board rooms and conference rooms. The vendor has identified some key prospective partners through its recently concluded three-city roadshow.

Talking about other areas of expansion, Dhuria said, “For entry level servers, we are enhancing our national and regional partner network. We are also working along with value added partners, OEM and large SIs to promote our high-end servers, storage and virtualization offerings.”

Recently, NEC appointed a specialized partner 3rd Wave Exim to cater to the Directorate General of Supplies & Disposals (DGS&D) requirements in the projectors space. “We have also appointed Solutions India as a partner to distribute our point of sale (POS) products. Currently, we have over 500 channel partners, 50 SI partners that reach out to end customers,” Dhuria informed.

The vendor has a two-tiered distribution policy comprising distributors and channel partners for products like projectors, telephone equipment, POS billing material and low-end storage, and computing products.
