“I want to help the needy”

Rajiv Unnikrishnan, Business Head, Westcon India has over two decades of experience in the IT industry. Prior to Westcon, he was with Select Technologies.

If not in the IT industry: Honestly, I can’t think of any career other than IT. Though, I think, I could have been good in the media advertising segment.

Biggest passion: I want to help the needy. As a part of Rotary Club, I try to work for the weaker section of the society.

Behind the wheels: I am not particularly fond of cars, but I love Porsche for its design.

Gadgets I can’t live without: Mobile phone. If it does not ring every few minutes, I feel I am no longer important.

Role model: My bosses, both past and present. They have taught me a great deal. Since my school days, I have been inspired by Mahatma Gandhi.

Weekends are for: Earlier, they were for family. Now it’s a constant battle between family and golf.

Favorite holiday destination: Any costal vacation spot.

Hate the most: Dirty politics.

Ultimate ambition: To see both my children grow up as good citizens and make a difference to the society.

Wildest thing I’ve ever done: Get married.

Thing I most want to do in life: Complete reading at least one book as I tend to leave books in the middle.

Favorite sport and sportsperson: I love all sports, but tennis champ Roger Federer is my favorite sportsperson.

If I became the Prime Minister: I would want to eliminate poverty and educate youth. Do vote for me!

Celebrity I’d like to spend a day with: There are a lot of desirable women on my list, but I would like to meet Lalu Prasad Yadav. If Rajiv Gandhi was alive, he would be the person I would be keen on interacting with. He is the one who turned the country’s IT dreams to reality.

Deepest and darkest fear: The economic turmoil. I think it can continue for longer time than estimated.
