Cyberoam Launches DLP Suite

By Tabrez Khan, November 17, 2009, 1100 hrs

Cyberoam has launched a data loss prevention solution, Cyberoam End Point Data Protection suite aimed at offering a comprehensive and affordable end-point protection for businesses.

The data loss prevention suite from Cyberoam enables administrators to create policies against pilferage through removable devices, restrict access to unauthorized and malware-laden applications and also features IT asset management and advanced data encryption. A perpetual license for a single user costs around Rs 4,000.

Tushar Sighat“Organizations are increasingly feeling the need for a reliable desktop level security solution, as they price their data highly and do not want to lose it to data pilferage or other kinds of insider threats,” said Tushar Sighat, Vice President, Operations, Cyberoam.

“Cyberoam’s end point data protection solution combines features that are not traditionally available in a single solution and we are providing it at a price point that would enable even SMBs to benefit from it,” he said.

Sighat said the product roadmap for the DLP solution was to integrate it with the UTM offering one year from now, but the stand alone version of Cyberoam End Point Data Protection Suite will still be available. “We want to let users have the choice of deploying either the entire UTM suite or just the DLP suite,” said Sighat.

On the go-to-market strategy for the product, Sighat said Cyberoam will leverage its existing set of channel partners to sell the solution and is also open to recruiting new partners with expertise in networking. Over the next one year, the company plans to ramp-up its channel base by adding 75 more partners, especially in the tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

Cyberoam is ramping up its technical support by adding more support staff and will also help partners in lead-generation by creating interest among enterprises through events and proof-of-concepts, informed Sighat.
