Wipro, Trend Micro Offer Virtualization Security Solutions for Dynamic Data centers

 CRN Network, February 04, 2010, 1130 hrs

Trend Micro has partnered with Wipro Technologies to offer next-generation virtualization security solutions for dynamic data centers. The goal of the partnership is to develop solutions that help secure public and private cloud computing environments that are being increasingly challenged to deliver operational cost savings, while still ensuring the security and compliance of critical IT assets.

With this arrangement, Wipro will be a global reseller of all Trend Micro products and will offer Trend Micro products as a managed security service.

As part of this strategic agreement, Wipro and Trend Micro are also jointly building Centers of Excellence (CoE) to address the challenging data protection, security and compliance needs of today's virtualized data centers, as well as the growing market demand for server consolidation. Mutual customers will be able to fully leverage the benefits of Trend Micro Enterprise Security offerings through Wipro's accelerated and cost-effective approach for deployment. With access to combined Wipro and Trend Micro expertise at these CoE around the globe, including US, UK, Australia and Japan, enterprises will be able to better focus on their core business competencies, while letting industry leaders help them effectively implement innovative security solutions that reduce risks and costs.

Wipro and Trend Micro will provide joint virtualized data center security, as well as data center consolidation solutions using next-generation security products from Trend Micro and other mutual partners. This initiative will align with current services from Wipro such as data security, managed security monitoring, managed network and host infrastructure security operations, and managed unified threat and vulnerability managed services. Under the agreement, Wipro becomes a global reseller of Trend Micro products that encompass threat management, Web, messaging, server and endpoint security.

"By working closely with Trend Micro, we'll be better able to address the operational security requirements of our data center customers, and meet their business demands for efficiency and cost savings," informed Prasenjit Saha, Vice President and Global head, Enterprise Security Solutions, Wipro. “Wipro's leadership in providing end-to-end security services combined with Trend Micro's advanced host and virtualization security solutions for data center security requirements will help customers to better protect their critical data, as well as ensure compliance with PCI and other regulations."

"Most data centers are employing virtualization technology these days. But without a virtualization security strategy, these dynamic data centers are less secure than their physical counterparts," said Wael Mohamed, Ssenior Vice President, Business Development, Trend Micro. "We have entered into a strategic relationship with Wipro for their global expertise in technology services. This agreement allows us to create 'security that fits'—customizable, scalable solutions that enable enterprises to protect confidential data and take advantage of the benefits of virtualization and cloud computing without compromising the security of their dynamic data centers."
