With Release 17, the latest release of Oracle’s CRM On Demand, a hosted solution, the company is offering new forecasting capabilities, a revamped user interface, and automated time-based workflows for managing sales, marketing and channels. Oracle presently works with more than 100 CRM On Demand customers in India.
The company is looking at increasing its partner base in order to target a larger customer base. “We are typically looking at partners who have the experience of selling and implementing CRM,” said Michel van Woudenberg, Director, CRM On Demand, Asia-Pacific, Oracle.
The company plans to address mid-end enterprises, and is taking a vertical approach.
“The key verticals we will focus on include BFSI, hi-tech, wealth management, automotive and life sciences. We have special focus on life sciences, building new capabilities for sub-verticals such as pharmaceutical and medical equipment companies,” Woudenberg informed.
Oracle comes out with a new release every year for its CRM products and follows it up with 1-2 innovation packs within the year. The company is looking at including another innovation pack with new security features around the database called the audit vault and data vault. “While data transferred through the browser is often encrypted, most vendors do not encrypt data stored in their databases. We offer encrypted data within the database when it’s residing locally. This prevents any misuse of data. The audit data feature not only helps track changes made to the database but also tracks how many times a user views it, and at what time,” Woudenberg explained.
The CRM On Demand is available in three flavors. The multi-tenant solution, in which customers share a common Oracle data center infrastructure, costs $70 per user per month.
Organizations that do not want to share the infrastructure get a dedicated infrastructure at the Oracle data center; this offering costs $125 per user. Finally, for customers who want their data in their own data center, Oracle hosts the solution at customers’ premise. |
