Ahmedabad-based Sai InfoSystem (SIS) posted a 72 percent growth in topline during FY2009-10 at Rs 780.1 crore, compared to Rs 453.3 crore in FY2008-09.
The company attributed its significant growth to the introduction of innovative technological products and services, and bagging of some very large projects from the government and telecom sectors during the last fiscal.
In collaboration with NComputing, SIS ventured into the manufacturing of microcontroller-based thin clients under its brand in 2008. The company has set up a plant at Kandla in Gujarat for exporting servers and small form factor PCs.
Last fiscal, the company exported in excess of Rs 40 crore worth of servers and PCs.
The company implemented several multi-crore projects in the government, PSU and telecom sectors which are its stronghold. For Gujarat Informatics, the company executed a Rs 6.5 crore project for deploying complete infrastructure for various government departments.

Another large project executed last fiscal was worth Rs 1.2 crore and for Mumbai Port Trust, where the company provided complete infrastructure.
Being a national integration partner for BSNL and MTNL, the company executed data center consolidation and infrastructure deployment projects worth Rs 20 crore for the two public sector telcos. It executed several projects in the range of Rs 1-2 crore for customers like IFFCO, Ajmer Vidyut Nigam, Indian Navy, Water Resource Department and Jaipur Gramin Bank.
In May 2009, the company diversified into telecom services by introducing its own brand of video and voice telephony services in partnership with BSNL. “As part of the partnership, we will provide the entire gamut of IP-based voice and video services to customers based on BSNL connectivity infrastructure. We have set up a 200-server data center for providing these services and have also ventured into manufacturing of IP-based customer premise equipments ranging from VOIP phones, IP switches, IP-PBX,” informed Vijay Mandora, Executive Director, Sai InfoSystem.
In the current fiscal, the company’s core focus will be on the new telecom business. Currently, the company is selling telecom services in Gujarat and will soon take it to other parts of the country. “We aim to have a million individual and corporate customers for these services over the next 2-3 years. We will also leverage the introduction of 3G to drive wireless telecom services,” concluded Mandora.
