Apacer unveils SSD

Apacer Technology unveiled Solid State Drive (SSD), which combines the standard SATA II interface with RAID 0/1 functions. Called the SATA RAID Flash Drive (SRFD), it is designed with two external CompactFlash slots whereby users can choose among memory cards to satisfy requirements for different memory capacities.
A switch sets RAID modes to improve data access speed (RAID 0), or data security (RAID 1), depending on the user’s needs. The SRFD is designed for simple stacking and assembly / disassembly, and it is easy to maintain, upgrade, expand, backup, as well as bring down costs. It eliminates the need to deal with the high cost and difficult upkeep of industrial peripherals. It is suitable for a wide range of applications such as surveillance systems, medical equipment, measurement instruments, and many others.
Priced at Rs 9,000, the 8GB version is available through Apacer Technologies.
