Birds of the same feather flock together
Just like first love, it’s often difficult to forget the first job. At a unique get-together, ex-employees of IBM met recently at D-Link’s CMD KR Naik Juhu residence in Mumbai. Many of the ex-IBMers presented started their job with IBM 30 to 35 years ago before the Big Blue’s first Indian subsidiary was closed down in 1978. Ex-IBMers came from all parts of the world with their spouses to reminiscence the old days and revive the bonds. The men behind organizing this event were K R Naik, L H Bhatia, K R Trilokekar and Shashi Ullal.
Asus unveils Eee Top
Asus India launched the Eee Top ET1602, the all-in-one touch-screen computer that boasts the full functionality of a regular desktop PC. The product is targeted at young kids and the elderly. Priced at Rs 44,000, the product comes with a 2 year warranty and will be distributed by Rashi Peripherals.
VMCDA’s annual expo is a hit
Vidarbha Computer and Media Dealers’ Welfare Association ( VMCDA)’s annual event Comp-Ex’2009 was held in Nagpur from January 9-12. The event witnessed over 2,00,000 visitors. AMD, Dell, D-link, Epson, HCL, HP, IBM, Intel, Lenovo and many other companies exhibited their products.
MicroWorld launches eScan 10
MicroWorld announced the release of eScan 10, antivirus, content security and firewall software. It provides simplified GUI, which makes it easy to operate for a novice user too.
