We are looking to set up a small subsidiary in the US. Are there any consultants who can help us do the same? The consultant must be familiar with both Indian and American laws and procedures.

PRAKASH -  There are many cross-border consultants in India. These are firms specializing in the laws (including taxation laws) applicable while doing business in another country. Also, many nations have trade councils or wings that advise Indian companies on matters related to setting up a business in their respective lands. Such trade councils are usually attached to the local consulates of those countries. Many of these consulates and business councils provide manuals on doing business in their countries. For the US you have the Indo-US Chambers, which you could contact. Searching online for such agencies will definitely help because most of these trade bodies and consultants have strong online presence.
