Doorstep service from Seagate

Seagate has introduced a doorstep pick-up service in order to strengthen its customer support in remote areas.
The service, which will be offered through 43 SeaCare Centers across the country, provides pick-up and delivery for in-warranty Seagate and Maxtor products from customers’ premises at no additional cost.
Customers have to call the toll-free number, and provide details of their products and the pick-up addresses. They are then given call-IDs, which need to be written on top of the packed products, which need to be kept ready for the pick-up service. Replacement drives are delivered in the same way.
“This service was initially introduced on a pilot basis, and it received tremendous positive feedback from customers living in smaller towns,” said Rajesh Khurana, Seagate’s Country Manager for India and Saarc.
Other features of the service include online tracking and SMS notification. Customers can also log-in for web site tracking, and key-in the call-ID to get the status of their replacement requests and expected delivery date. A pre-delivery alert is also sent to the customer via SMS.
