Manisha Sood, Country Manager, India and Saarc, Sandisk is among the few women channel chiefs in the country today. Having started her IT career in 1990 as a sales executive, Sood is credited with establishing Sandisk’s presence in the Indian sub-continent and making it a leader in the memory market.

  • If not in the IT industry: Essentially from a business family, I would have had my own business, probably managing a chain of jewellery showrooms or chain of restaurants.

  • Biggest passion: Right now, Sandisk is my biggest passion. However, I love cooking, traveling and reading. I just can't survive without books.

  • Behind the wheels: I am not much of a car enthusiast. Currently, I own a Honda CRV but would like to own a Volkswagen some day.

  • Gadgets I can't do without: My Nokia PDA, Sony Ericsson cell phone, Dell laptop and Sansa music player.

  • Weekend activities: I love spending time with my family—my two daughters and a dog. During the weekends, I love taking my family out for lunch or for shopping.

  • Favorite holiday destination: Greece for its fantabulous cuisine and its mountainous landscape.

  • Hate the most: People who don't live up to their commitments.

  • Favorite movie: Taare Zameen Par. A commercial movie with a great social message.

  • Favorite stars: John Abraham and Arjun Rampal. I think they both are good actors. I like Bipasha Basu among the actresses.

  • Ultimate ambition: To handle global marketing and sales for Sandisk within the next five years.
