 “I always play to win”

With over 14 years of experience in channel sales, Mandeep Gupta, Country Manager, Channel business, Emerson Network Power, leads the vendor’s channel team and is responsible for expanding its market reach. Prior to Emerson, Gupta was the Channel Sales Manager at Millennium Technosystems where he was in charge of promoting Millennium range of PCs across North India.

 

If not in the IT industry: As an electrical engineer, I would have been selling electrical products such as lighting gadgets or switchgear.

 

Biggest passion: Victory. I truly believe in the motto ‘Losers play for the spirit of the game, I play to win.’ Whenever I take on any task or activity, I ensure that I do it perfectly and win.

 

Behind the wheels: I drive a black Baleno, but my dream car would be a black Merc or BMW.

 

Gadgets I can’t do without:

My Nokia 6500C and Blackberry, which help me stay connected all the time.

 

Role model: Amitabh Bachchan. His fighting spirit, humbleness and charisma are exemplary.

 

Weekend activities: I prefer to spend time with my family. We either go socializing or shopping, watch movies or dine out.

 

Favorite holiday destination: Genting and Sentosa in Singapore. They are excellent holidaying spots.

 

Hate the most: Lying and faltering on deadlines.

 

Favorite movies: Sholay, Sarkar and Anand for the gripping stories and the performances of the actors. I generally watch Hindi movies, but occasionally also watch good English movies.

 

Favorite stars: Amitabh Bachchan for his intense and perfect acting skills. Among actresses, I adore Madhubala, Madhuri, Aishwarya and Priyanka.

 

Ultimate ambition: To earn ample fame, money and lots of recognition.
