HP rolls out training and development

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has rolled out a range of new, skill-enhancement training and development programs for its partners.
Sameer Mathur, Head, Solutions Partner Organization, HP India said, “Partners continue to be an integral part of our team and help us reach out to customers in newer geographies. Our objective is to help them manage and scale up their own organization in alignment with our growth line. With our sustained focus on our partners, the company is investing heavily in training programs.”
These programs encompass areas across sales efficiency, improving business acumen, mergers and acquisitions, and raising capital. Apart from the new training programs, HP will continue to focus on providing product support and knowledge to strengthen its channels.
To ensure that the partners develop their business in all aspects, the vendor has introduced the ‘Next Gen’ program. This is a formal platform which provides professional inputs for the partners’ general managers to apply in their organizations.
Aimed at strengthening and benefiting the channels, the Catalyst 2.0 program is targeted at CEOs of the top 150 partners. These CEOs will be taken through a management development program on financial management, mergers and acquisitions, raising capital, and business development opportunities beyond India.
At the sales level, the company’s sales efficiency program covers sales process management, sales efficiency and funnel management. Designed in collaboration with Dale Carnegie, this program will reach out to 325 sales representatives from 150 partners across 10 cities in the country.
The new programs are aligned to the challenges faced by partners based on feedback collated by HP during its national partner advisory board meet. This meet takes place annually, wherein HP’s top 25 partners across various product categories meet to deliberate on issues concerning the Indian IT channel space.
