Memjet Debuts Fastest Color Printer

 CRN Network, January 7, 2011, 1230 hrs

High-speed color printing technologies provider, Memjet announced a printer that prints up to 60 pages per minute. Touted as world’s fastest color office printer, the device was announced at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Bengaluru-based IT hardware and networking company, WeP Peripherals has been appointed as the official distributor and will bring the printer to India. Like other Memjet Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), WeP will incorporate these technologies into its own branded printers that will be powered by Memjet.

“We are delighted to bring multiple benefits of quality color, speed and affordability to our customer base,” said Ram N Agarwal, Managing Director and CEO of WeP. “The breakthrough Memjet technology truly is a game-changer and aligns with our customer focus to provide products developed with the best technologies at affordable prices. With this we also strengthen our printer product offering.”

Len Lauer, President and CEO, Memjet, said, “WeP is an innovative company noted for its focus on its customers. We believe WeP’s design, development, manufacturing and service expertise, combined with our robust technology, will significantly benefit their customers.”

Memjet-powered printers provide both color and speed by putting more than 70,000 ink nozzles on a single printhead—17 times that of traditional print heads— and can print color at 1600x800dpi resolution at the rate of a page a second. The 8.77-inch print head spans the width of a page, allowing Memjet-powered printers to deliver more than 700 million drops of ink per second on a page.
