Su-Kam Launches Home UPS System

 CRN Network, March 8, 2011, 1230 hrs

Su-Kam, the power back-up vendor has introduced its new Shiny home UPS. The company claims that the UPS provides pure AC power equivalent to grid power.

Its HCLC (High Cut/Low Cut) technology provides protection to appliances in case of any irregularities and disturbances in the grid supply, like short circuits, overload, high and low voltage.

Shiny’s Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) minimizes the amount of AC powr required to charge the batteries. Priced at Rs 5700, Su-kam Shiny home UPS is compatible with all batteries.

The Shiny has a slider switch that allows choosing between UPS mode and Wide UPS mode. In the UPS mode, the input voltage window is 185 V to 260 V. In the Wide UPS mode, the input voltage window is 105 V to 275 V. The two-way slider selection switch gives the option to select any battery type and charging and helps in enhancing battery life.

Incase of overload, Su-Kam’s system overload alarm resets the home UPS automatically. The system will retry eight times to run the existing load. It also switches to battery mode silently, without letting anyone notice that the power supply has failed.
