ISODA task force on service tax

The Infotech Software Dealers Association (ISODA) held its first national meeting in Mumbai. Attended by partners from all over the country, the agenda of the meeting was to discuss the implication of various taxes applicable on packaged software products like VAT, service tax and CVD. Other issues discussed included impact on working capital of partners due to the deduction of TDS by customers whereby service tax is charged on invoice and day-to-day transaction issues with distributors. The association  formed a task force to tackle these issues.

ISODA also discussed the impact of the sudden imposition of delivery charges by a ‘cartel of distributors’. It has also set up another task force to guide the members on the best business practices to be adopted in the prevailing market scenario.
