Lenovo Gives Partners Wings2Fly

 CRN Network, February 05, 2010, 1130 hrs

Lenovo is celebrating the launch of its latest ThinkPad Edge Series and ThinkPad X100e with an exciting new offer for its entire partner community called Wings2Fly, valid from February 1 to February 28, 2010.

The vendor plans to offer its 7,000 partners in India a chance to win three-nights-and-four-day holiday package to Dubai, on the purchase of Think-brand PC bundle—comprising 20 ThinkCentre desktops and three ThinkPad notebooks.

To win, a partner must purchase a bundle of 23 units comprising two units of ThinkPad SL series, one unit of ThinkPad X, T, or the newly launched X100e or Edge Series and 20 units of ThinkCentre PCs. The purchase should be made from one of Lenovo’s three distributors in the SMG segment: Elcom Trading Company for purchases in Delhi, Global Infonet Distribution (All India, except for Delhi and NCR) or Neoteric Informatique (All India, except for Delhi and NCR) for purchases in rest of India.

“Strong channel partnerships are core to our strategy. We have been working closely and strategically with partners over the last three quarters, and have together achieved excellent results. We mark this achievement and the launch of ThinkPad Edge Series and ThinkPad X100e with the Wings2Fly offer for all our partners,” said Yathindra Nath, Director, Consumer Sales and Distribution, Lenovo India.

Partners can purchase the bundles either at once or spread the purchase over the month of February, winning a maximum of three tickets on the purchase of three or more bundles.

Recently, a partner told me that a leading vendor has sent letters to several of its partners stating that they would like to audit the partners’ business. When the partner refused, he was sent a notice by the vendor’s legal department stating that the partner’s contract made it mandatory for him to comply with the vendor’s demand
