Fluke Scouts For Data Center Partners

 By Ramdas S, CRN, October 9, 2009, 1230 hrs

Fluke Networks is looking for partners focused on data center solutions to sell its network testing and performance management solutions.

The company operates in three markets: data centers, telecom service providers and enterprises. For enterprise customers it offers portable testing equipment and performance management solutions. Fluke is concentrating on attracting partners to address the enterprise market, especially for the performance management solutions.

Explained Alamuri Sitaramaiah, Director, Sales and Marketing, Fluke Networks India, “Around two years back we had attempted to tap the data center market through partners. However, at that time, the market and the partners weren’t quite mature. Today, the data center market has not only matured but is also growing significantly, and we believe it presents a sound business opportunity for network testing and performance tools.”

Sitaramaiah stressed that while setting up physical infrastructure is the first step to successful deployment of a data center, channel partners can build a stronger partnership by providing performance analysis. “In the real world, the problems start once the data center is in operation, and without proper tools no data center manager can identify and troubleshoot efficiently.”

Fluke also has plans to launch analyzers and performance monitoring tools for wireless networks. “In August, we bought over a company called AirMagnet, which is a leader in monitoring wireless LAN performance and security. We will soon bring these products to India because the wireless market here is set to grow exponentially,” Sitaramaiah said, adding that the new wireless portfolio will also be resold by its existing distributor TVSNet.
