Ohrie Quits EMC India

 CRN Network, August 11, 2009, 1215 hrs

Manoj Chugh has been appointed President of EMC India & SAARC region—effective August 11—replacing Alok Ohrie, who has made a sudden exit from EMC.

Prior to Ohrie’s appointment in May 2008, Chugh headed the India operations for five years and was later promoted to the role of Director for Global Accounts for EMC in Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ).

While in the new role, Chugh will continue to execute the responsibilities of his previous job role as well. The company’s press note didn’t mention the reason for Ohrie’s exit.

Since Ohrie joined EMC India in May 2008, he has been credited with revamping the vendor’s India strategy with more focus on SMBs.
