Apple India’s Managing Director Alok Sharma has put in his papers after a five-year stint with the company. Sharma said that he is leaving the company on an amicable note, to pursue his dreams outside Apple.
“It has been a great time I had with Apple, where the operations have grown from just $10 million, when I took over, to around $100 million now. I was lucky that during my time, we’ve introduced some of the best technologies and products. This is one great company to work for,” said Alok Sharma, speaking exclusively to CRN.
Sharma said that Apple India will soon be making the announcement on his replacement. “I have some bigger dreams to chase and will soon let you know where I will be,” he said.
Sharma is credited with Apple’s successful retail strategy, its partnership with Reliance Digital, and also the restructuring of the company’s distribution business.
“I want to convey my immense gratitude to all Apple channel partners who worked with our team,” said Sharma. Noting that his exit might come as a surprise to many partners, he advised that they should continue working with Apple as the vendor has big plans for the days ahead. |
