“I am a couch potato”
With over 15 years experience in the consumer technology and retail industry, Mohit Anand is responsible for increasing Belkin’s visibility, and streamlining and motivating the channels. Prior to his current assignment, Anand spearheaded Star India’s Channel V and Microsoft’s entertainment and devices division.
If not in the IT industry: I would have been in the army. Three generations of my family have been in the army.
Biggest passion: Video games. I am an avid gamer and love to play any game anywhere, be it on a computer, console or mobile phone.
Behind the wheels: I currently drive a Grand Vitara, and dream of owning a big SUV which I can take on a world expedition.
Gadgets I can’t live without: My i-Phone, my Blackberry Bold, the HP tablet PC at work, the Dell 17-inch media center notebook at home, an Xbox 360 gaming console, and a Canon EOS 400D digital camera. That says it all—I’m a gadget freak!
Role model: Khushroo Dordey, my former trainer. He used to run a training academy for sales and marketing people. He was the one who taught me the tricks of the trade.
Weekend activities: I am such a couch potato on weekends that I don’t even get up to get a glass of water. I like to stay indoors and watch movies, play video games and spend some quality time with my family.
Favorite holiday destination: I have a perpetual travel bug within me. I like to travel to offbeat places—like Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh.
Hate the most: People who go against the interests of the country. Our nationality is our greatest identity, and we should uphold it.
Favorite movies: Rang De Basanti and Taare Zameen Par. I didn’t like watching Slumdog Millionaire because it misrepresents India as a poor nation.
Favorite stars: Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee.
Ultimate ambition: To retire from a 9-to-5 job at the age of 40. I want to travel the world and write a book about my expeditions.
