ZyXel Debuts WLAN Controller System And Access Point

 CRN Network, September 10, 2010, 1200 hrs

Broadband access solutions provider ZyXEL Communications announced an enterprise wireless LAN controller system NXC5200N and WLAN access point NWA5160N. Both the products are targeted at medium to large enterprises, and campuses.

The NXC5200 allows up to 240 access points, and management of individual wireless network channels and data from a central location. It also features firewalls for a secure wireless edge, certified WLAN security of WPA and WPA2, as well as embedded firewall, and license-based IDP and AV.

The WLAN controller system can handle requirements of wider bandwidth with 802.11n. The data that flows through each virtual AP can also be configured to be bridged locally or to enter the NXC5200 WLAN controller for better management. Intelligent data forwarding allows it to offload the burden to the network, while providing users the 11n performance.

The NXC5200 supports several features that allow for quick and easy deployment such as automatic and mutual discovery and configurations are sent spontaneously to managed access points.

The NWA5160N is priced at `68,000 and the NXC5200 at `4,80,000.
