Asus introduces anti-surge protection motherboard
Asus has launched its P5KPL-AM/PS, a motherboard backed by anti-surge protection technology which regulates the power provided to the motherboard and CPU and protects critical components of the motherboard and CPU from voltage fluctuations and power surges.
This technology works in the background and monitors 5V, 12V, 3V voltages in real-time to deliver over-voltage and short circuit protection. It also features support for Intel’s 45nm CPUs and FSB 1600; while a built-in 5,000 hour conductive polymer solid capacitors in VRM provides longer lifespan to the motherboard.
Priced at Rs 2,975, the motherboard comes with a three-year warranty and is available through Rashi Peripherals.

 

APC launches UPS for SOHOs
APC rolled out BR500CI-IN, its new 500 VA UPS, targeted at home and office computers. The UPS provides protection for data from power disturbances such as voltage fluctuations, surges, and power cuts. It enables users to save and shutdown in case of power outage.
The UPS has several features including automatic voltage regulation which enables users to work through poor power conditions while preserving battery life, automatic diagnostic testing to ensure that the UPS is ready when it is needed and staged charging that recharges the battery faster and prolongs battery life.
Priced at Rs 2,300, it carries a warranty period of two years on the unit and a period of one year for the battery.

 

Transcend launches P6 USB card reader
Transcend Information launched its new flash drive-inspired P6 USB card reader. It has a black case accented by a bright color band and smooth rounded edges.
It includes a built-in USB connector that allows quick data transfer, and its LED indicates card insertion and/or data transfer activity. When combined with a memory stick Pro-HG card, the P6 USB card reader offers transfer speeds of up to 30 MB/s read and 18 MB/s write, allowing access to important data.
Priced at Rs 400, the P6 USB card reader carries a three-year warranty and is available with Supertron Electronics and Mediaman Infotech.

 

Genius rolls out G-Shot V3
Genius has unveiled its 3x optical zoom 10.0 mega pixel digital camera, G-Shot V3. It features digital capture, video camcorder, voice recorder, video conferencing and audio recording facilities.
The digital camera has a powerful 1/1.7-inch super CCD sensor, with a 2.5-inch LCD color display and the 10 mega pixel resolution enables to shoot high quality images anywhere. It comes with 3x optical and 4x digital zoom.
It has 24 different scene modes and the Li-ion battery can capture more than 140 shots continuously. In addition to the 32 MB built-in memory, it is SDHC compatible to 8 GB. Hence, movies can be recorded for nearly three and half hours or over 3000 pictures at 10.0 mega pixels taken using an additional 8 GB SDHC memory card.
Priced at Rs 13,395, Genius G-Shot V3 carries a one-year warrantly and  is available through the company’s distributors.
