Buffalo unveils external hard drive
Buffalo launched MiniStation Lite, series of external hard drives which allow the user to store, backup and transport digital images, music and other files without occupying space on the hard drive.


Designed for active professionals, the portable storage solutions for PC and Mac includes backup and sync software, a shock-resistant design as well as the vendor's SecureLockMobile software to prevent unauthorized access in the event the drive is lost or stolen. The storage devices are available in capacities of 160 GB,  250 GB, 320 GB and 500 GB.
Priced at Rs 6,000 for 160 GB, Rs 7,000 for 250 GB, Rs 8,000 for 320 GB, Rs 12,000 for 500 GB, the drives are backed by a 3-year warranty and toll-free technical support, and will be available through the company's dealers.

 

Sony dust-free ODD for India
Designed especially for the Indian market, Sony Electronics introduced the AD-7220S-ID—a dust-proof drive.
Running at 22x speed, the DVD writer implements 6 sponges on the inside of bottom cover, bezel and PWB. These sponges help absorb the dust resulting in better uninterrupted performance and up to 20 percent longer product life.
The ODD features a vibration reduction system, efficient heat dissipation mechanism, buffer under run protection, optimized writing quality by automatically adjusting the writing strategy, and automatic adjustment of CD-DA/VCD/DVD data extraction for smooth reading.
Priced at Rs 1,300, the ODD is distributed by Rashi Peripherals and comes with a 1-year warranty.

 

HP notebook series for professional
HP launched EliteBook Notebook PC series designed especially for the style-conscious corporate mobile professional. These notebooks feature military-standard durability, thereby withstanding dust, vibration, altitude and high temperature.
The series comprises a total of six premium business notebooks [2530p, 2730p, 6930p, 8530p, 8730w and 8530w].
The shock-resistant hard drive and spill-resistant keyboard helps protect confidential data residing in the notebook against bumps, drops and spills. The series incorporates Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processors, solid-state hard drives and Qualcomm’s Gobi technology to provide customers with greater choice of mobile operators and increased international roaming capabilities. All the notebooks have energy-efficient features.
The HP EliteBook Notebook PC series is available within a price range of Rs 75,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh.

 

Logitech cordless keyboard-and-mouse combo
Logitech’s Cordless Desktop MX 5500 Revolution features cordless laser mouse, a keyboard display and Bluetooth wireless connector.
With its MicroGear precision scroll wheel, the mouse offers people two modes of navigation. Hence users can scan through long documents, spinning the scroll wheel freely to move through up to 10,000 lines of a spreadsheet in 7 seconds. The scroll wheel can be set to click-to-click mode, which allows movement through lists, slides or photos.
The combo provides one-touch search, which allows people to obtain Internet search results for any word or phrase. The built-in LCD screen on the keyboard shows users time and date, calculator, temperature, website favorites, and e-mail updates.
Priced at Rs 11,495, the combo comes with a 3-year warranty and is distributed by Rashi Peripherals.
