Verbatim’s multimedia drives
erbatim launched two new multimedia drives, Mediastation and Mediastation Pro. Offering upto 500 GB in storage capacity, the drives enable users to store videos, photos, music and films and then play it back directly via TV or an audio system.
Weighing around a kilogram and occupying less than 2 feet standing space, the Mediastation features a 3.5-inch SATA drive. It can play back all popular video, audio and graphics formats. The Mediastation Pro version offers a WLAN connection with the help of which data from the PC can  be played back directly in real time on the TV. It is capable of receiving Internet radio streams, Shoutcast and Icecast directly through the Internet connection.
The multimedia drives are priced Rs 15,000 onwards.

 

Lenovo unveils Thinkservers
Lenovo launched a series of servers, Thinkservers, designed specifically for SMBs that require robust performance, high levels of storage and a reliable IT infrastructure for sustainable business growth. 
The Thinkserver range includes three tower servers and two rack x86 servers, providing a scalable offering to fit the varying needs of businesses with an employee count within 500. The TS100 tower and RS110 rack are single-socket servers, equipped with Intel Core 2 Duo or Xeon 3000 or 3200 processors and are targeted for small offices utilizing applications such as email, messaging and storing files and for use as a web server. The TD100 tower, TD100x tower or RD120 rack are double-socket servers, equipped with Intel Xeon 3000 or 5000 processors and are ideal for medium-sized businesses that require additional capabilities such as database applications or virtualization. The prices of Thinkserver products start at Rs 45,000.

 

XFX launches mother of all boards
FX has rolled out the nForce 750i SLI motherboard for gamers. The company claims it to be the fastest multi-GPU gaming platform available in the performance category.
With the motherboard, users can instantly upgrade to an SLI-ready performance system. It features PCI Express 2.0 for twice the bandwidth and is backward compatible with existing PCI Express 1.0 graphics card.
It features full overclocking capabilities for Intel Yorkfield and Wolfdale CPUs. It also includes an Nvidia control panel that helps to monitor characteristics in an intuitive and customizable 3D environment; Nvidia Mediashield storage that safeguards digital media assets and supports RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 5 configurations and up to four SATA 4 GB/s drives.
Priced at Rs 8,500, the motherboard carries a two-year warranty and is available through Rashi Peripherals.

 

LG introduces LCD monitors
G launched the energy efficient monitor W52TE in 19-inch and 22-inch sizes. The 19-inch model consumes 20 watts under normal conditions and the 22-inch model consumes 22 watts. In sleep mode the monitors consumes merely 0.3 watts. The monitor features a fun-key front-and-center. Main functions of fun-key include 4:3 in wide, ez Zooming, Photo Effects and sound. The 4:3 in wide function is a gamer-focused feature accessible through the fun-key that coverts 4:3 sources to wide screen. Its ez Zooming feature allows viewers to lower the monitor's resolution by pressing the fun key. The monitor’s fun-key allows users to select four special effects. It also allows users to preview different effects prior to using photo editing software.
The 22-inch monitor is available at Rs 14,000 while the 19-inch monitor is available at Rs 11,000.
