Benq rolls out R45 joybook
enq launched the R45 joybook, powered by a 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The company’s patented UltraVivid technology enhances display quality of all applications ranging from video to multimedia. Its 14.1-inch widescreen LCD panel takes advantage of DBEF (Display Brilliance Enhancement Film). It is equipped with Nvidia GeForce 8400MG distinct graphics, with the ability to produce digital video via the integrated HDMI interface (High Definition Multimedia Interface). It has two 1.5W speakers with smart noise suppression and echo cancellation along with an integrated microphone and 2-megapixel webcam for high quality video calls and other audio and visual applications. Priced at Rs 47,000, Benq R45 joybook is available with the company’s authorized dealers.

asco Data Security International unveiled the Digipass 865, a USB connectable card reader which can be used in connected and unconnected modes. In unconnected mode, it offers strong authentication and e-signature capability and is ideal for use in environments with high security requirements including PKI/digital signature, secure PIN verification, corporate network access, e-banking and e-commerce transactions. In connected mode it can be used for a number of PKI-based applications, such as e-ID card or e-health applications. It uses a CCID compliant driver and can be used with all standard operating systems such as Windows, Linux and Mac OS. Its 20-keys keypad allows activation of dedicated operations. Priced at Rs 3,500, Digipass 865 is available with Adweb Techno-Trade.

ten International launched CS661—a compact, cable-like device that offers direct control of two computers. It is targeted at small office and home office workers who require access to both personal and business PCs. It features seamless file transfer between two computers wherein file management system allows users to drag and drop files between connected computers; plug-and-play functionality, and access to USB 2.0 peripherals such as external storage devices. The device also adjusts the resolution of the remote desktop window to match the local computer monitor. The switch allows transfer of large files directly between two computers without the need for network sharing. Priced at Rs 6,077, CS661 is available with the company’s distributor Cubix Micro Sytems.
Epson introduces new scanner pson unveiled a Perfection V300 photo scanner with film scanning ability, and which could also double as a document scanner. With a high optical resolution of up to 4800dpi and 48-bit colour depth, the A4 photo scanner enables users to preserve old memories by converting films into new photos. It is targeted at home users who do film scanning or those who have always wanted to backup their entire film collection. The scanner incorporates the ReadyScan LED Technology for scanning with zero warm up time and low power consumption. It features four customisable one-touch buttons that allow users to predefine their repetitive tasks. It comes equipped with a film holder which has the capacity of scanning six frames of standard 35mm filmstrip or four frames of 35mm mounted slides together. The scanner is also bundled with a set of software programs that provide for digitalisation of documents as well as management of media files.
