WD launches new 500 GB portable drives
estern Digital has launched its range of My Passport 500 GB portable USB drives. The new 500 GB capacity is offered on Elite and Essential portable drive models. Weighing less than 200 gms, the portable drives are small enough to fit in a pocket or backpack for easy portability. The portable drives are powered with a USB-bus that eliminates the need for an external power adapter. It also has synchronization software that lets users sync their changes and protect their information with 128-bit encryption. The plug-and-play capability with gaming consoles makes it easier to play music and view photos and videos on TV. The drives are available in bronze, titanium, westminster blue and cherry red color. Priced between Rs 9,000 to Rs 11,000, the portable drives carry a 5-year limited warranty and are available with authorized distributors of Western Digital.
Watchguard introduces XTM 1050
atchguard Technologies unveiled its Extensible Threat Management (XTM) network security appliance called the XTM 1050. The appliance is designed for enterprise campuses, data centres and high performance networking environments with up to 5,000 users. The appliance provides enterprise-grade performance with 10 Gbps firewall throughput and 2 Gbps IPsec throughput. It also provides enhanced VoIP security and inbound and outbound HTTPS inspection. The appliance promises better connectivity options with 12 high-density GB Ethernet ports and optional 4-port fiber GB interfaces. Security features provided by the appliance include Web blocker which limits employee access on the web and intrusion prevention service to prevent key loggers, adware, dialers and bots.
Viewsonic delivers projector for SMBs
iewsonic launched its portable DLP Projector PJD6210, encompassing the Brilliant Color Technology for use by small and medium businesses. The projector with 5-segment color (RGBWY) wheel provides greater color accuracy than any standard DLP projector with a 4-segment color wheel. With a brightness of 2,200ANSI lumens in just 2.4 kgs and a 2700:1 contrast ratio, the projector with an XGA of 1024 x 768 resolution offers multiple inputs including support for 720p and 1080i HDTV signals. The eco-mode of the projector extends life of the lamp to 4000 hours and reduces fan noise to 32dB . With a digital keystone correction of +/- 40 degrees, users are able to place the projector at an angle without skewing the image. Priced at Rs 55,000, the projector is available with a two–year warranty and though distributor Redington.
Plustek launches A360
lustek launched Opticpro A360, a hyper-speed flatbed scanner for large format scanning. Ideal for finance, insurance, law, healthcare, transport and education verticals, the scanner is a USB 2.0 device which scans A3 size documents with high resolution up to 600 dpi. It features advanced networking capabilities and is bundled with document management software including Adobe Acrobat Reader, Read Iris Pro 10 Corporate Edition, Plustek DI Capture and Doc Action, and New Soft Presto! Image Folio 4.5 and Page Manager 7.10. The scanner can be installed in the LAN and WAN and the users can scan their documents from remote nodes. It has one-touch function buttons for normal operations like scan, OCR, copy, fax and email. Its graphical user interface (GUI) is available in multiple languages.
