Mastersoft Scouting Partners

 By Tabrez Khan

After an encouraging response to its debut product Harmony, Mastersoft is expanding its footprint in India. The data quality specialist plans to set up offices in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai and is in the process of signing partners.

“In February 2009, we did a soft launch of Harmony. Normally, in any new geography, it takes 18-22 months to strike the first sale. However, in India we are already on the verge of signing up few big customers,” said Susan Hyland, CEO, Mastersoft.

Data quality solution resides in an organization’s ERP, CRM or legacy data system, and structures, validates and matches data against set rules. The solution helps structure the unstructured data in an organization. It also aids customer relationship management by identifying various relationships that customers may have with the organization.

Hyland said verticals like BFSI, telecom, retail, manufacturing and government are where data quality solutions will find the highest adoption.

“Business leaders in India are beginning to understand the criticality of data quality. For instance, one of the top three reasons due to which a lot of ERP implementations fail is the inability of organizations to ensure data quality while migrating it from one source to another. Vendor-agnostic data quality solution like ours is hence generating a lot of interest,” said Hyland.

Mastersoft is in final discussions with several OEMs and solutions providers. “We have signed on Bengaluru-based Acropetals as a reseller for our solutions. We are in talks with several other VARs. However, our strategy will be to have a select number of partners with good domain expertise—who understand our solution and its implementation,” concluded Hyland.
