Genius 2.0 mega pixel webcam for instant video
Genius has introduced a 2.0 mega pixel webcam, the Slim 2000AF. The webcam model features a motorized auto focus lens and a high-performance 2.0 Mega Pixel Sensor. The cover design of the webcam provides an ideal personal privacy solution whereby one does not need to remove the device when he stops video calling. Through the IM hotkey, one can also link with MSN or Skype immediately. It can be plugged and operated under Windows Vista, XP SP2 and Mac 10.5.0 version. The camera features a built-in microphone and its multi-function clip fits on LCD panel and notebook. It also has another feature that enables video file sharing on Youtube. The bundled software with the product include Crazytalk Avatar Creator, Cam Suite and Genius application called Webmate. The web camera is available in India through the company’s authorized partners at Rs 2,999.
Verbatim introduces two new products
Verbatim launched two new products—one is the 16 GB Store ‘n’ Go USB drive and the other is a range of color-background 4.7GB Lightscribe DVD-Rs. The USB drive is compatible with Windows 98, 2000, XP, MAC OS 8.6 and higher, Linux 2.4.0 and also with Vista. It features hardware data encryption, tamper resistant password entry security and V-Key file synchronization software that helps users manage data and ensure that the current information is updated between devices. The hack-resistant feature locks down the device after 10 failed log-on attempts thereby protecting the data from hack attempts. The DVD-R will be available in different shades of red, orange, yellow, blue and green in addition to the original gold color. The company has introduced them in packs of 25 which includes five discs of each color. The 16 GB USB drive is priced at Rs 3,000 and the Lightscribe 16X DVD-R (pack of 25) is priced at Rs 1,400 and the 52X CD-R (pack of 10) is priced at Rs 250 and they will be available through leading resellers and distributors.
HP’s affordable laserjet printer
HP launched a color laserjet printer, the CM6040 series. The MFP series is designed to maximise office workgroup productivity with features like A3 printing, advanced finishing options, robust security and the HP Easy Select control panel. The series supports enterprises by digitising, securing and streamlining their paper-intensive processes. The company’s ImageREt technology of up to 4800 dpi consistently ensures high quality results through advanced image enhancements. It delivers fine results for complex print jobs delivering at up to 600 x 600 dpi (default) and up to 1200 x 600 dpi operating mode. With colour access control features, businesses can manage colour toner usage, control costs, and make informed decisions that improve operational efficiency. It delivers A3 print speed at up to 40 pages-per-minute (ppm) for both colour and black-and-white. The company has designed customized packages for enterprises interested in investing in the product.
Logitech launches palm-sized keyboard
Logitech has unveiled diNoVo Mini palm-sized keyboard with media remote and clickpad based on Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology for users who connect their PC to their TV. The keyboard features backlighting and clickpad, which can be used as a touch pad to point, scroll and click or as a directional pad to navigate menus. The dual-purpose clickpad features two backlight modes—when in touch-pad mode, it backlights in orange and in media-remote mode, it backlights in green. The keyboard features a keypad, dedicated hotkeys for media players and web browsers, page up and page down buttons, which allow users to scroll when surfing the web as well as zoom in and out of documents and images. The Bluetooth technology provides wireless control from up to 30 feet from the PC. It can be recharged and the rechargeable Li-ion batteries last up to one month between charges.
