 “I want to make AMD a market leader”

Ramkumar Subramanian, VP, Sales & Marketing, AMD India is responsible for driving AMD and ATI business. Previously, as the Director, Corporate Development, at AMD headquarters, he was a key member of the team that led the ATI Technologies acquisition.  


If not in the IT industry: I guess, I would be involved in social activities.


Biggest passion: I want to make AMD a market leader in graphic cards and processors space.


Behind the wheels: Presently I drive a Toyota Corolla, but my dream car would be a Ferrari.


Gadgets I can’t live without: My BlackBerry phone. 


Role model: Nikola Tesla, for his work in the field of electricity.


Weekends are for: Rest and relaxation.           

         
Favorite holiday destination: Hawaii.


Hate the most: Lies. 


Ultimate ambition: To raise AMD’s market share to 50 percent.


Wildest thing I’ve ever done: I spent four days in the Amazon Jungle.


Thing I most want to do in life: To see all continents.


Favorite sport and sportsperson: My favorite sport is cricket and favorite sportsperson is Sachin Tendulkar.


If I became the prime minister: I would empower the Competition Commission Of India to ensure neutral specifications in all tenders.


Celebrity I’d like to spend a day with: Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen.


One person I’d like to meet: I would ‘ve loved to meet the great mathematician, late Srinivasa Ramanujan Iyengar.


Deepest and darkest fear: Since I cannot swim, my deepest and darkest fear is that I might fall off an aircraft and find myself stranded in the middle of the ocean.
