Sanyo’s eco offering

Sanyo Energy has announced eneloop solar light. It is a combination of a solar USB charger and a portable 9-bulb LED light.
Its solar panel taps sunlight with Sanyo’s proprietary high efficiency HIT solar cell technology, originally developed for rooftop solar panels. It takes up to 30 hours to charge fully, and can operate on nine bulbs for 9 hours and one bulb for up to 50 hours.
Its USB port can charge electronics like phones and other gizmos. The power strips stop feeding power to a gadget that's already full.
Weighing around 1kg and at 20x25cm in size, it is quite hefty.
The solar light is available at Rs 13, 500, with authorized dealers.
