eScan will now come with rescue disk file creation option. Using this, users can create the rescue disk that will help them clean boot their computers, and scan and clean infected Windows systems from rootkits and file infectors that cannot be cleaned in the normal Windows mode.
According to the security vendor, the feature is easy to use and the Windows-based bootable CD or DVD with the ISO image file can be created by following the eScan Rescue Disk File creation wizard. Users can also download the eScan rescue disk ISO image from the company’s website.
Govind Ramamurthy, CEO and Managing Director, eScan, said “Cleaning rootkits and file infectors were always a problem as they infect critical Windows system files or hide beneath the Windows OS layer. With the rescue disk feature, users can easily clean boot their PC and clean their system. The feature is available for version 10.0.1058.657 and above. This feature is unique in the sense that it is one of the few Windows-based rescue disk and presents users with an easy to use standard Windows interface to clean infections and also to troubleshoot problems in the operation system. The eScan Rescue Disk is available for all Windows operating systems above Windows 2000, including Windows 7." |
