Intellisys Appoints Park Electronik as Regional Distributor

By Priyanka Bhatia, July 9 2008, 1730 hrs

Intellisys Technologies and Research, a provider of software-based video conferencing solution, has appointed Delhi-based Park Electronik as its regional distributor for northern region. The company plans to sign up three more regional distributors by end of next month.

“Our strategy is to appoint four distributors in each region. We focused on northern region initially. Park Electronik, which is also a partner of Sony and Polycom, is representing us in the North. Currently, we are in the process of finalizing a distributor for the Southern region soon,” said S Chakraborty, CEO, Intellisys Technologies and Research.

He further elaborated that three companies have been shortlisted for the southern region and the final selection would be done within the next two weeks. However, he declined to name the shortlisted distributors.

For the eastern and the western regions, distributors would be appointed by the last week of August. He further added, “We are established in the North now and are looking at partners for establishing ourselves in the other three regions”.

According to Chakraborty, the company is looking for distributors who have experience in selling value-added solutions and has strong pre-sales and channel training capabilities.

Intellisys launched a software-based video conferencing product called Vennfer in January this year, which offers 37-way simultaneous videoconference locations from a single PC/laptop/mobile or any other display screen. “Our product is completely software driven and doesn’t need any hardware endpoint VC equipment. You can load it on a Celeron PC and it can run 37 live multicast sessions with acceptable voice and video clarity on a bandwidth of less than 512 Kpbs. The product also supports other unified communications features like instant messaging, webinars etc. We are soon planning to launch 3D video conferencing solution,” explained Chakraborty.

Ajay Kumar, CEO, Park Electronik said, “We saw this product at the CRN Leadership Summit and like everyone sitting in that room, we were mesmerized by the technology that Intellisys has indigenously developed. We foresee a huge opportunity for this software-based video conferencing solution as it is cost effective, easy to deploy and manage. We expect the tie-up to contribute 15 percent to our revenue this year.”

Park Electronik would arrange for demos, logistics, billing and other day-to-day activities in the sales and pre-sales of their software.

Intellisys is expecting the distributors to target verticals like telecommunications, education, government organizations, PSUs, defence, railways and the automobiles segment of the manufacturing sector.
