 “Knowledge fascinates me”

Shubhomoy Biswas is SonicWall’s Country Director for India and Saarc. Prior to SonicWall, Biswas worked with vendors such as Tata Unisys, HP, RSA and Citrix

If not in the IT industry: I would have been in the teaching profession. Spreading knowledge fascinates me.

Biggest passion:

I’m passionate about anything I do.

Behind the wheels: Ford Ikon, Mercedes-Benz.

Role model: John Kennedy. He rose to be the youngest president of the US, and took many tough decisions.

Favorite holiday destination: Singapore. It has great spots, it’s close to India, and since it’s a small place one can travel from one attraction to another very quickly.

Hate the most: Dishonesty in any form.

Ultimate ambition: To always be Number One in whatever venture I undertake.

Wildest thing I’ve ever done: 10 years after passing out from my school I once stood in front of the school main-gate at two in the morning and sang the school song aloud. I’m still not sure why I did it, but it sure felt good.

Thing I most want to do in life: Impart knowledge, especially to that strata of society which will benefit from my doing so.

Favorite sport and sportsperson: Badminton. Prakash Padukone.

If I became the Prime Minister: I’d stop terrorism not just in India but also help to curb it across the world.

Celebrity I’d like to spend a day with: Prakash Padukone. I would like to understand how he trained himself, and how he felt after winning the All England Open.

Weekends are for: Spending time with my wife and six-year-old daughter.

Gadget I can’t live without: My mobile phone.

One person I’d like to meet: Anyone who lived in India during the British Raj to understand what it means to be not free.
