Avnet to Distribute IBM Software Solutions

 CRN Network, Feb. 9 2009, 1400 hrs

Avnet Technology has signed up with IBM to distribute latter’s software solutions in India. These software solutions include IBM’s Tivoli Service Management and Information Management portfolio. Avnet is also a distributor for the vendor’s hardware range in India.

G Balakrishnan, Managing Director, Avnet Technology Solutions, Partner Solutions Division, India said, “This further strengthens our global relationship with IBM, in which Avnet and IBM are seen as key partners when it comes to solutions distribution. In India, we already have a distribution agreement for IBM hardware, so this new agreement will now give us a unique competitive advantage in the market place. We will now be able to offer our channel partners the complete IBM storage, server and software solution.”

Avnet will also drive marketing and technical services to help partners create demand and recommend the most appropriate solutions and services. Through this partners will be able work with Avnet to design, architect and implement high-performance networking infrastructure.

Anil Menon, Vice President, Channels and Ecosystems, Software Group, IBM India said, “This partnership is of great significance to our business partner network in India and South Asia. We believe that the mid-market space will benefit immensely from Avnet’s solution-centric approach. Their value-added distribution model will bring the technology expertise and the skills and resources to the channel community allowing them to demonstrate the strengths of IBM’s software portfolio in the marketplace.”
