MIEL set up its own training center in Mumbai where it offers 29 different security courses. The company’s security training program, PRISM, was approved and licensed by the education authority of Saudi Arabia to be taught in colleges there.
MIEL shipped Helios, its compliance tool, during the FY. “Helios has been developed entirely by our own team and incorporates compliance regulations of all major international geographies,” explained Gupta.
One of the biggest projects handled by MIEL was for Reliance Industries, where the solutions provider implemented a desktop-based end-point security solution.
During the year, MIEL started its CRM and ERP implementation, which Gupta described as a work in progress constantly tuned to increase productivity. A new MIS system was also commissioned; it provides the management with key information about different business units. MIEL also completed ISO/IEC 27001 security certification for all its processes and practices, and has started implementing ISO 9001 within the organization.
Plans for the future are heavily services-oriented. “We are betting on increasing our consulting and compliance services revenues. Other plans are to offer packaged services in areas such as the setting-up of security operations centers (SOCs), vulnerability management, risk audits and data loss prevention,” said Gupta.
