Amit Vyas, Business Manager, MIEL e-Security, receiving the award

Mumbai-based security solutions provider MIEL e-Security recorded a 17 percent growth in revenue from Rs 42.9 crore in FY2008-09 to Rs 50.1 crore in FY2009-10, and a 345 percent growth in net profit in FY2009-10. Anuj Gupta, Director, Sales, MIEL e-Security, attributed the growth in revenue to deep selling, the introduction of advanced solutions and services, and the tapping of new markets such as virtualization and cloud computing.

“In FY2009-10 we undertook a number of initiatives. We improved our services delivery model and sold our professional services under annual contracts. We also focused on tapping the virtualization market and building cloud solutions for customers employing technologies from VMware, Citrix and Wyse. All these combined generated good results for us,” he said.

During FY2009-10, MIEL bagged several key projects from enterprises across verticals. The company executed a Rs 2 crore cloud computing project for a large KPO. According to Gupta, “Implementation of the CRM has greatly improved the sales and service support processes. Duplication has reduced, and the exchange and ready availability of relevant information has enabled better overall results.”

In FY2010-11, MIEL plans to introduce new security and storage products as well as remote security services.
