Tally signs up 60,000 customers for services

 By Ramdas S

Tally Solutions is betting heavily on annualized service offerings, and is all set to launch an e-marketplace where customers can pick and choose from the several Tally applications.

“Last year we started offering annual subscription services Tally.Net, which includes services like deployment, continuous updates, central consolidation of branch data, central deployment and unlimited support, to Tally ERP 9 users,” said Shoaib Ahmed, President, Tally Solutions. “These were free for first few months, but since March 2010 we have commercialized these services. Nearly 60,000 customers have signed up.”

Presently, Tally has two annual subscription packages—ERP 9 Gold (unlimited licenses) for ` 8,100 a year and ERP 9 Silver (single license) for ` 2,700. “The offerings have created a strong revenue stream for our partners, who receive annual commission of up to 25 percent,” he said.

Tally will continue to add new features to its services portfolio. “Recently, we introduced a free service that allows users to query their ERP application by sending SMSes from their mobile. The SMS service allows user to access just about any data on the move that he is authorized to access,” explained Ahmed.

Among other new services added is an online recruitment module. “Customers can access resumes of thousands of Tally certified professionals, ask potential candidates to give online tests, and can thus recruit certified employees from within their ERP application,” added Ahmed.

The next big launch is that of an e-marketplace, which will feature extended Tally applications developed by Tally Extender partners.

“We have close to 1,000 companies, including Wipro and Infosys, who have developed business applications for the Tally platform. The e-marketplace will allow a customer to pick and choose applications, evaluate them, and even purchase,” said Ahmed. “Partners whose customers buy from the online marketplace will get commissions.”
